Ok, to kick of the new section of the site, let's start with one of my favourite questions.
What do you prefer, a Mac or PC?
I own a PC desktop, a PC laptop and a Mac desktop.
I love my Mac, it's great for editing photos on iPhoto. I find it so awkward to do it in GIMP on my PC. I really want to get my hands on a Mac Book but I couldn't give up PC all together. I'd rather edit videos on my PC in Vegas than on iMovie and you get so much more value for money in regards to speed and storage on the PC. But using a Mac just feels so much smoother and a better experience overall.

If you asked me this 2 years ago I would've said PC. However, after using a MAC book Pro I also love these babies. To me it's a close call.
I suppose it depends on what you use them for. I am a gamer, so I tend to prefer the PC rather than MAC for playing games as I just find it easier to operate. When it comes to browsing websites etc and editing videos I prefer my laptop (but that may just be cause its portable and I can sit on the couch whilst watching TV!).

Ooh I studied Film in university and all the equipment we had was Mac (as we learned Final Cut Pro and a couple other mac only programs) so I bought a Macbook my sophomore year and have never looked back! I even converted my mom into a Mac user...started slow with an iPhone and then got her to get an iMac and that's her main computer these days!
I've so drunk the kool-aid

Please don't laugh but I think PC only because I haven't had the chance to try MAC yet. It's hardwork on the PC especially nowadays but it gets work done

Why would we laugh? I think Macs are a lot bigger in the US but are now becoming more popular in the UK. I know loads of people that haven't used them before.

I'm back because I just turned my mac on and remembered one thing that bugs me about Macs!
All the poppy up stuff that happens when you start up. I get emails popping up left right and centre, facebook notifications, google plus notifications. It's really annoying. Time to uninstall the facebook one I think!

Yes, I'm DYING for a macbook!!! But they are so expensive. Hello credit card??? Corinne x But they last a good long time! I got an HP laptop just after I graduated high school and it was giving me trouble before Christmas of my first year of college. I bought my first Macbook the beginning of my second year of college and it lasted me the rest of the way through. I bought a new one just before graduation (while I got a discount!) because the first one wouldn't hold a charge anymore (though I could have just replaced the battery). That one is the one I'm still using, which says mid 2009 so it's nearly 5. And the only issue I've had is the battery again (which again I can replace, but I rarely use it not plugged in so I'm just saving the money) and now it's finally starting to slow down when I run multiple programs and one of the foot things fell off. But for an almost 5 year old machine that's still perfectly usable, I'm not complaining! I'm itching to get a new one now, but am being responsible and waiting until I can easily afford it! The point of the rambly post was to say, yes they are expensive, but I feel the cost to use ratio is better!

Mac all the way, I've always used macs even when most people ha don clue what they were so it's been quite interesting the last few years when they've taken off! Macs last longer and tend to have better hardware and software imho, though the last few years they have been cutting down on making them easily upgradable, humph! My last macbook lasted me about 6 years (and it still works fine I just wanted a new one and had saved up so...) , definitely worth saving up and getting the best you can afford. also worth learning how to do stuff like changing the hard drive and adding memory yourself as the mac shop will rip you off and it's really not hard to do! Can extend the life of your machine by a good few years too. FYI if you mean the notification centre for poppy uppy things you can disable it in system preferences under notifications - well worth doing

Ha, I'll take a look at disabling the notification centre when I get home from work.
I bought a mac book pro since my last post in this thread and I love it! It is just such a smoother user experience and makes it easier to sync things up across all my computers/phone etc. They are expensive but such great quality.
