I was just reading twitter and came across a tweet saying 'never buying now magazine again'. I was intrigued and dug a little deeper to find out what must have made this twitter user so angry, I was shocked to discover this: On Christmas Eve, the popular UK magazine released their latest issue with these images on the front cover, inviting you to see celebs looking 'awful' and making the reader feel 'normal'. There is tonnes of controversy over the influence of the media on the body image of women. Celebs are constantly critiqued for being too thin (must be drugs/anorexia/bulimia), gaining too much weight, being too photoshopped, not having enough makeup on.. it seems they cannot win. What are your thoughts? Do these images make you feel better about yourself? Or just pissed off at the media? Is this an acceptable article? Discuss.

I hate when the media blow things out of proportion. Celebrities are humans as well and they have every right to behave like any other normal human being. I am very thin myself and my veins can be seen and my bones are sticking out as well but that doesn't mean that I'm taking drugs or something.
It definitely doesn't make me feel good at all. Making money at the expense of these celebrities and trying to make fun about their body, I personally don't think it's right and that is my opinion.

why is there just so much unnecessary focus on body image?? doesn't the media (and the world, for that matter) realise and understand that everybody's just the same. doesn't matter if you're famous or not, you're still human. shaming someone and calling their body "shocking" just so "readers" will "feel normal" is such a sick, twisted justification.
this magazine is completely disgraceful D:
