I was just in #fbloggers twitter chat and got a bit off topic with a couple of bloggers.. talking about the blogs having a 'read more' section on their blog home page, rather than have full posts shown on the main page.
I've always seen the 'read more' as a way for a reader to view the content and select what they wish, but I've recently found some people find these an inconvenience, or said it gives the impression the blogger wants more page views.
Do you have 'read more' on your blog?
Do you think it's a good, annoying or are you different about it?

I think it's good in order to keep your blog nice and compact, as some posts can be quite long and take up a lot of space. I've been noticing blogs having them more and more.
Personally, it's not for me as when I'm browsing bloggers it seems a hassle to then have to click on the post I want to read, maybe I'm lazy ha ha.

For my blog, I try to keep the entire post available for the first few on my homepage. That is unless, like Lisa pointed out, the post is really long. I honestly don't mind clicking through to read the full post on other blogs, that way I don't have to scroll through entire posts that I'm not interested in. I hadn't really thought about people thinking bloggers just want more page views or to improve the bounce rate, however I could see how someone might think that. From a bloggers view, I guess it would help to see which posts readers are clicking through to read more and which ones aren't appealing. Great question! Cassie icanbuycheaper.com

It's in my template to make it say read more automatically, I kind of like it like that though because I edit my first photo to cater for this so I think I'm going to leave it as it is.
