I've been getting quite a few e-mails lately from people asking to write something for my blog. Something specific for my blog.
Has anyone ever got this before? I found it a bit weird to get these e-mails. From what I can tell, they aren't other bloggers asking to guest post, they always say things like 'we are looking for blogs to post content on' etc etc.

How strange! I've never had anything like that. Perhaps it's sneaky companies trying to get some free advertisement on your blog!

Yeah, I think that. Or maybe they are going to ask me to pay for the articles?

I get those emails all the time. They're not "writers" as they say, cause if they were they would at least have a Google+ profile in their signature. They are all PRs or anyway people paid from brands to try to spread backlinks all over the internet. They have plenty of articles that are ready: yes, they are unique content but you can see they're written just to throw a couple of backlinks in them. I try to answer politely to each and everyone of them but sometimes it gets really annoying. My answer is the same for everyone: "Have a look at my media kit and we can talk this over" Of course I write a nice and polite email, but I also always say that I know that they are trying to stuff backlinks in the post and that is sponsored content, and sponsored content must be paid for. And last but not least, I don't let anyone write sponsored content for my blog so it's a no-no even if they're willing to pay (which they are not). It's not only annoying for people that try to monetize their hard work: even if you blog without monetizing, you should be annoyed by having people wanting to do something that it's called advertising on your blog. So don't let them! Of course I love having guest bloggers over at my blog, but I will only allow bloggers to write on my blog, not people or "writers" that "want to write specific content for your blog". Haaaa people think we are so easily fooled.

I'm of the same opinion of as you, Elisa! I've done sponsored posts before for either money or products but they've always been written by me with nofollow links only.
I've replied to a few saying I don't allow other people to write content on my blog but feel free to look at my advertising options etc, they don't reply so I mostly just ignore them as I know they'll probably send out tonnes of emails to tonnes of bloggers so it's not like it matters if I reply or not. I mainly do it when I have time to prove a point.
