some days, i really want to just quit my dayjob and concentrate on blogging full-time. in one episode of The Big Bang Theory, the character sheldon cooper says to his friend & neighbour penny (who quits her dayjob to focus on acting & asks for his opinion on her decision): "the best way to achieve a goal is to devote 100% of your time and energy to it" and mostly i hear this a lot, too.
i just wonder & worry what'll happen if i really do quit my dayjob.
what will i do for money?
will i be able to lose my fixed salary (i've grown pretty comfortable with receiving)?
what if i regret my decision and cannot find a way back to my old job?
also:
i know that the best (and quickest) way to make money through blogging is to blog about more "commercial-friendly" stuff, i.e. restaurant/food reviews, beauty tips, pop culture-centric stuff.. but that's really not how i want to be "identified" as as a blogger.
hm, questions & more questions. lol.

I think your blog has to be earning (even just a little) for you before you can take the leap to full-time blogging....but I guess before you did that you'd have to save a nest egg from your paid employment to see you through and then live a very frugal lifestyle whilst you worked like a dog on the blog and build up an income - that's what I'd do in your position. It's not an easy leap to make

I agree with Emma! You will need some money aside to start with. Or even for emergencies as your salary will not be a set amount. You could have great luck, or not so great luck. I'd probably try to add something else to it if I was going to quit, like making/selling jewellery alongside the blog as I don't earn enough $$$ to quit. Problogger is a full time blogger and has two sites, a photography one and one about blogging www.problogger.net, he posts some great articles on ways to make money etc! I think if my blog was to take off and I started making a decent amount, I would see if I could go from full time to part time, that way I still have a stable salary incase things go tits up or I have a dry patch and see where it goes from there. I spend a lot of time blogging, networking, researching etc - it wouldn't surprise me if I spend as much time on my blog as I do at work each week! Corinne x

Full time bloggin would be a dream job and fair play to you if you take the risk. I can't see myself ever being able to do that but I can dream!

It would be a dream job! I wonder how many page views etc you would need to make it worth it!
